Prose in Gambling; For Keeps?

Each topic let it be cooking or decorating attracts millions of authors and experts to write books about these topics. It is not different with gambling, where dozens of so-called gambling experts write about strategies, explanations and solutions to today's gambling games. But here is the deal; how are we supposed to know which book is junk and which book is for keeps?

Many authors write from experience yet other authors write because they earned a Ph.D. and think that it qualifies them to make a good analysis on gambling without any firsthand experience. We will be taking a look into several gambling books and the reason why they have become so popular.

A perfectly good example for a gambling prose for keeps is the book Bringing Down The House by Ben Mezrich. This book describes how MIT students put their minds together in the gambling game of blackjack and were able to hit the jackpot more than just one time. Their gambling strategy simply was to count the cards that have been played.

Another very worthy gambling prose for keeps is A Winner's Guide to Casino Gambling by Edwin Silberstang. This book is the gambling bible and provides the reader with the best and up-to-date gambling strategies that you have ever seen. The author is a gambling professional himself and this book can easily replace all your gambling guide books.

The next book has a different twist but is nevertheless a gambling book for keeps and is called Jackpot Nation by Richard Hoffer. Richard Hoffer is a writer of Sports Illustrated and his book talks about America being a gambling country as a whole. Hoffer describes the favorite American pastime of anything that you can gamble with; let it be simple arm-wrestling all the way to the blackjack table. He ironically also tells the reader that the government who used to ban gambling now owns most of the gambling facilities. The most interesting statement he has made is that people lose to the house, but who knows who actually owns the house.

The last book in our list is a definite gambling prose for keeps. The Greatest Gambling Stories Ever Told: Thirty-One Unforgettable Tales of Risk and Reward by Paul Blumenau Lyons has both wonderfully hilarious prose and horribly distressing prose. As the title states, this book tells 31 stories about the world of gambling and many gambling fanatics will definitely be able to recognize themselves in the characters.

All of these books are for keeps, but there are also other great gambling books, but before you buy any book about gambling, make sure that you researched reviews or the background of the author so that you will be guaranteed with a quality gambling prose for keeps.
